a. Applicability
The competition regulations of the Athletics Union apply to both the competition and the recreational run, except insofar as they are deviated from in these General Terms & Conditions. The competition regulations of the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) apply, except insofar as they are deviated from in the competition regulations of the Athletics Union or in these General Terms & Conditions. Both sets of competition regulations are available for perusal at the Organiser’s offices and the Organiser will send these regulations to the Participant at his request.
b. Manner of motion
The Participant must run along the track set out by the Organiser in a manner that is usual for track and field events. He must be recognisable as a Participant.
c. Starting position
The actual allocation of a starting square to a Participant is made by the Organiser. The Participant must be present in the allocated starting square no less than five minutes before the start. Once the final starting group has left it is not possible for latecomers to start.
d. Starting numbers
The Participant will receive a single starting number from the Organiser which will show his/her allocated participation number. The Participant must attach the starting number to his/her chest. Competition runners must also affix their starting number to their back. The starting number must be attached and worn in such a way that the starting number and other information are easy to see. The number can not be trimmed or folded. The Participant is prohibited from wearing other starting numbers than the one he has received from the Organiser. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. The Participant is obliged to list his medical passport and other details on the inside of the starting number. The Organiser will collect the starting numbers from Participants who have been disqualified or have otherwise dropped out of the race.
e. Deadline/last runner
Because of the release of the track to traffic, the Participant must cross the finish line within a certain period after the start, or he will no longer be included in the results. Time limits:
-   12 km: 1.45 hrs;
-   5 km: 0.45 hrs;
-   kids    : 0.30 hrs.

f. Disqualification/being taken out of the competition
The Organiser is entitled to disqualify a Participant and/or take a Participant out of the competition if he does not comply with these competition regulations or displays unsporting or improper behaviour or if it is deemed necessary on medical grounds or for an orderly progression of the Event.
g. Stewards’ instructions
The Participants must comply with instructions from the Organiser, and/or persons who, based on their clothing or other physical characteristics, appear to belong to the organisation of the Organiser.
h. Other stipulations:
- The Road Traffic Act and the legislation based on this Act, such as the Road Traffic and Traffic Signals Regulations, remain in full force on the entire track throughout the Event.
- It is not permitted for a person to be accompanied on the track, irrespective for which purpose and by which person, unless written permission has been obtained from the Organiser.
- Bringing along objects like pets, prams/strollers, banners etc. is not permitted.
- Displaying or expressing explicit political, philosophical or religious views or making statements that may be considered offensive, hurtful or insulting, in any way, during the Event is prohibited.
- It is not possible to leave items of clothing at the start. Participants are therefore advised to come to the starting area in the clothes they will be running in. The Organiser does not accept responsibility for lost items of clothing or other belongings of Participants. The same applies to items that have been left behind in the changing facilities made available by the Organiser. The Participant is reminded that these facilities are not monitored by the Organiser.
- It is expected of the Participants that they will not damage the property of others and not leave any rubbish behind.
i. Time registration
Every Participant must run with a time registration chip provided by the organisation.
j. Time registration competition
The overall run time will be determined by two printers that are pressed at both the start and the finish. Every 10th of a second will be rounded up. This is particularly relevant in the case of a potential record time. A potential record in the competition will be measured in tenths of seconds (using printers).
k. Determination of results
The Organiser will determine the result and is entitled to change the result if any inaccuracies have been noted. A Participant must return any prizes to the Organiser if a change to the result means that the Participant is no longer entitled to the prize.
l. Honorary prizes
Every Participant in the competition who finishes within the required time and uses a Chip has a chance of winning an honorary prize. A Participant is not entitled to a prize if he has acted in a way that contravenes the competition regulations. An awarded prize must be returned to the Organiser after it has been presented if it becomes apparent that the Participant has acted in a way that contravenes the competition regulations.
m. Other incidents/events
In all cases for which these regulations do not provide the Organiser will make the final decision.
